L'Hébergement
I'd now like to take you on a more detailed tour of each of the accommodations that make up the Bananes Vertes ecolodges in Saint Claude.
If you've been reading my articles since the beginning, you'll know that our ecolodges adventure began with three studios. So it makes sense to start the tour with these three!
Located just across from the pool, our three adjoining studios, each designed for two people, have a bedroom, bathroom with separate toilet and a covered terrace housing the kitchen, from which you can enjoy your breakfast with a lovely view of the pool.
Let's head for the garden to visit the lodges. The first to rise in the garden is, of course, lodge 1.
Located at the entrance to the tropical garden, this lodge is ideal for a couple or a family with young children. It features a large room with a double bed and a small alcove with a bunk bed. At the far end is the bathroom with separate WC and a semi-outdoor shower. As with the studios, the kitchen is on the lodge terrace, but this time with a view over the tropical garden. Nature immersion guaranteed!
Moving on to Lodge 2, built a little higher up, some time after Lodge 1, it offers an overhanging view of the garden and its Guppy-filled pond. These little fish have the particularity of eating mosquito larvae, thus protecting us from these ferocious blood-drinking predators. Lodge 2 has been designed with two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and separate toilet. As with the others, the kitchen is located on the covered terrace, and in 2023 the lodge's terrace was given a facelift and enlarged to accommodate a small lounge area in addition to the kitchen, for an even cosier vacation!
Now it's the turn of lodge 3 to reveal its secrets. Ideal for families, this lodge has two bedrooms, the first with a double bed, the second with two separate beds and the possibility of adding a third bunk bed. The bathroom and WC are shared by both rooms, and the long covered terrace housing the kitchen offers a magnificent view over the tropical garden of "Les Bananes Vertes" ecolodges, and sometimes even over our friends the racoons on their nocturnal jaunts. A little extra? Its outdoor shower and bathtub, hidden behind a bamboo hedge, guarantee a moment of escape and tranquillity in the heart of nature.
For a romantic getaway for two, the Lodge 4 will be your best ally. Comprising two lodges, one opposite the other, with a private Jacuzzi in the middle. The first, "the night part", houses a bathroom separate from the WC and the bedroom with direct access to the jacuzzi. The second, "the day part", comprises the kitchen and dining room, with a direct view of the garden and pond. I must confess that this one is one of my favorites!
We're almost at the end of our visit, and all that's left for me to do is to introduce you to lodge 5, our tree house, and we'll have completed our tour of all the accommodation that makes up “Les Bananes Vertes” ecolodges. So let's get going! Following me, it's time to go to the far end of the garden and climb up to the treehouse, which is by far my favorite. Before reaching the terrace of this lodge perched high above the ground, you'll have to cross a suspended footbridge, just like in an acro-branch park. The kids will love this adventure.
Built entirely around three trees, two mango and one rose-apple, which you can see in every room, this lodge has a bathroom with separate toilet, two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with a double bed and two bunk beds for children, and a large terrace with a view over the whole property. At the far end of the terrace, between the branches of the mango tree, is the kitchen where our four-legged friend, the racoon, regularly shows his nose. This little rascal has taken up residence here and won't hesitate to steal any food that's lying around, so remember to keep everything tidy and lock the cupboards! Apart from his thieving side, he's sure to endear himself to the whole family.
